An R package of shared function for calculations pharmacometric analyses need on every project, from renal function and body size to demographic coding and hash-verified data reads.

Overview

Every pharmacometric dataset starts as source data and ends as an assembled analysis dataset. scicalc reads and writes common PMx data formats and hashes each file, so you can confirm later exactly what went in and what came out.

Between those two ends, most projects run the same calculations: renal function, body surface area, and numeric coding of demographics. When each project writes its own version, the formulas, units, and category codes drift apart, and two datasets built from the same source can disagree. scicalc gives teams one documented set of these calculations, so the middle is as reproducible as the ends.

It covers creatinine clearance and the standard eGFR equations for adults and children, with renal and hepatic function categories. It also calculates BSA, BMI, and ideal body weight, converts common lab units, and computes geometric summary statistics. Race, ethnicity, and sex codes are configurable, so each team can match its own conventions.
