R package · Reporting
An R package that builds traceable Word reports, inserting tables, listings, and figures with embedded metadata and replacing them when results change.
reportifyr connects the analysis in R to the report in Word. Tables, listings, and figures (TFLs) are saved through reportifyr’s export functions, which write a small metadata file alongside each output recording the source that produced it, who ran it, and a fingerprint of the file itself. The report authors then write in a standard Word document, marking where each output belongs with a placeholder, and reportifyr drops every output into place. The R to Word connection is what keeps a report trustworthy through iterations. Without it, every rerun of the analysis means finding each affected TFL, copy-pasting it into Word again, and losing any record of where it came from. With reportifyr, rebuilding the report replaces only the outputs that have changed. Everything else, including manually adjusted formatting in Word, stays exactly as it was. When the report is ready, reportifyr finalizes it, removing the working placeholders and recording a fingerprint of the finished document so any later change can be detected. The result is a Word report where every TFL traces back to the code that produced it, from first draft to final.
