Open source · MIT

A Quarto extension that adds tables of contents, lists of figures and tables, cross-references, and a glossary to Word documents rendered from Quarto.

Overview

Quarto lets analysts write reports in plain text, right alongside their code, and render them straight to Microsoft Word. Formal reports need more than body text. Content like a table of contents, lists of figures and tables, numbered captions with cross-references, and a defined set of abbreviations is often added by hand after every render, and they rarely come out the same way twice. Quarto Plus is a Quarto extension that builds them in. A short marker in the document creates a native Word field that updates just like one made in Word. Figure and table captions are bookmarked so cross-references link to them directly, and text can be mapped to the styles of an existing Word template so the output matches your organization’s formatting. Abbreviations get the same treatment. Terms are defined once in a shared glossary file and referenced while writing. Quarto Plus spells each one out on the first use and builds a list of abbreviations the document actually uses.
