Murray Cutler, PhD

Senior Director, Clinical Pharmacology

As a scientist with 25 years of hands-on laboratory experience, Murray guides pharmaceutical programs from discovery to early clinical development. He earned an internship in the DMPK department at Genentech and later worked as a pharmacokineticist at the National Research Council Canada screening novel marine-derived anticancer agents while training as a fellow at the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute. He led the discovery and development team at Therapure Innovations, focused on the screening and nonclinical development of therapeutic antibodies and ADCs. Murray later headed a research lab at Athenex and was responsible for the completion of mechanism of action through to IND- and NDA/BLA-enabling studies of small molecules, protein therapeutics, and cell therapies.

Murray completed his PhD in Pharmacology & Toxicology at the University of Western Ontario Division of Clinical Pharmacology. Murray’s combined skills and experience has supported the translation of high-throughput screens, to IND-enabling pharm/PK/tox studies, to bioanalytical method development, to first-in-human trials.
